Information about the Long-Eared Bat:

The Long-Eared Bat is a species of flying mammal native to the western coastal areas of North America. It is a member of the Myotis family which are ‘mouse-eared bats’, which are diverse and widespread genus with dozens of species. Their ears are normally larger than normal bats. Myotis evotis inhabits a wide range of difference environments, including this often associated with forests. It is found under exfoliating bark, in tree cavities, and in stumps resulting from logging. In areas with few trees, they tend to reside in the crevices of cliffs and even rocks on the ground, in lava-tube caves, and mines which have been abandoned. Long-Eared bats are also found buildings and huddling in large numbers under bridges.
