Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep:
The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep is a subspecies of bighorn sheep native to the Rocky Mountains from British Columbia to Arizona. The name comes from the obviously large curled horns used in competition during mating season by the mature males. These competitions can last for hours, with the contestants occasionally suffering injures. These sheep usually live in herds with a dominate male, who are quite large, occasionally exceeding 500 pounds (230 kilograms) and females that can grow to over 200 pounds (90 kilograms). It is the state animal of Colorado.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep was completed on 7.11.2012. As this is the state animal of Colorado, I needed to add this wonderful symbol of the United States to the image library. This turned out to be a little more work than I had anticipated, but I’d estimate the pen work took about 5-7 hours and the tinting (done by hand using a graphics table and Photoshop) another 2-3 hours. I’m pretty happy with the result. The drawing is based on a photo by Michael Hite
