Whale Shark – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Whale Shark:
The Whale Shark (Rhincodon typus) is a slow moving filter feeding shark. It is the largest living fish species growing up to 40 feet in length and weighing up to 15 tons. While it is the largest known fish in the ocean it feed upon the smallest; it sieves enormous amounts of plankton through its gills as it swims. Whale sharks live in the warm water found near the equator both along the coast and in the open seas. They spend most of their time near the surface. They are very slow swimmers, generally reaching speeds of just a few miles per hour. For this reason they are very popular with snorkelers who can easily swim alongside this gentle creatures.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Artist’s notes:
The Whale Shark was completed on March 5th. It was a challenging illustration to create as Whale Sharks, like most fish, are very long and thin – which can be hard to recreate when you’re trying to get the image into a certain standardized space. This 3/4 view fits the bill nicely I believe. The drawing is based on a photo by Steve Collins.
