Description

Fine art illustration of an Oregon Swallowtail Butterfly (Papilio oregonius.) The illustration is available in black and white or color.

Artist’s notes:

The Oregon Swallowtail Butterfly was completed on 6.8.2012. As I move further through the 50 State Project (the creation of drawing of all state animals in the US.) At times I get impatient, and I didn’t notice that the species of butterfly designated by Oregon was a species I hadn’t rendered (Papilio oregonius.) I ended up, rather than creating a brand new ink drawing, altered an existing drawing to create the distinctive patterns of this species.
