Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Satanic-Leaf Tailed Gecko:
The Satanic-Leaf Tailed gecko is a species of reptile native to the tropical rainforests of the island of Madagascar, off the eastern coast of Africa. It is not native to anywhere else on earth. They grow to be anywhere to 2.6-6 inches long, which includes the distinctive leaf-shaped tail on which the gecko gets its’ name from. Like other geckos, it does not possess eyelids, and must keep the eyeball moist by licking it. The gecko has excellent camouflage, and with the mottled color of it’s skin and the texture it can be quite difficult to see should it be clinging to the side of a tree. They are threatened by habitat loss in their native Madagascar. The Satanic Leaf-Tailed Gecko does well in captivity and is sometimes kept as a pet.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Satanic-Leaf Tailed Gecko was completed on 3.23.2014. I hadn’t drawn a gecko for several years, yet this last weekend I was able to complete drawings of two different species (in order to add them to a collage of geckos I was putting together – the other species being a Yellow-Headed Gecko.) I had intended to draw the Satanic Leaf-Tailed for some time, but hadn’t gotten around to actually doing the drawing. The illustration is based on a photo by Rob Schell photography and was used with permission.
