Tree Swallow – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Tree Swallow:
The Tree Swallow is a migratory passerine bird that breeds in North America and winters in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. It is a medium-sized swallow, growing to about 5 inches long (12.7 cm) These beautiful and active birds – which form large colonies which can number in the hundreds of thousands – feed on flying insects like horseflies, dragonflies, moths, and mayflies. They will not come to birdfeeders as a general rule, but will readily take up residence in man made birdhouses.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Tree Swallow was completed on 2.28.2010. I considered the different poses for this bird – in flight or perched. I decided on the perched pose because the lovely iridescent blues of the feathers would be better visible. The drawing is based on a photo by David Cree.
