Eurasian Sparrowhawks – also called the Northern Sparrowhawk or simply the Sparrowhawk – is a small bird of prey in the family Accipitridae. Though it is a predator which specializes in catching woodland birds, the Eurasian sparrowhawk can be found in any habitat and often hunts garden birds in towns and cities. Female sparrowhawks are about twice the weight of males, one of the largest differences between sexes in any bird of prey. Like other birds of prey, the Eurasian Sparrowhawk is a skilled aerialist and can reach speeds of up to 50 MPH (80.47 kmh.)
