Spotted Sandpiper – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Spotted Sandpiper:
The Spotted Sandpiper is a smaller shorebird native most of North, Central and South America. There are two species of the genus Actitis (the other being the Common Sandpiper.) They grow to be about 7.5 inches long (19 cm.) They’re usually encountered near ponds, streams and other waterways inland and on the coastlines. While many similar species tend to breed in South America, the Spotted Sandpiper builds it nest and breed in the US.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%

Artist’s notes:
The Spotted Sandpiper was completed on 12.20.2014. My friend Adam and I often remark about the huge problem trying to identify small shorebirds like the Spotted Sandpiper – the white, brown and gray coloration and many of them are roughly the same size and shape. I’m putting together a collage of birds native to the Mid-Atlantic Coastline of North America and this species will be part of it. The drawing is based on a photo by Jerry Ting and was used with permission.
