Information about the Flying Gecko:
The Flying Gecko is an arboreal reptile native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia. They are known for their intense camouflage coloring. They also posses the ability to glide from tree to tree using their large webbed feet and webbed membrane running alongside of their bodies. They generally grow to about 6-8 inches. They are not aggressive, but will sometimes bite humans who attempt to pick them up.

Artist’s notes:
The Flying Gecko was part of a series of three geckos I created along with a giant day and tokay in about 2006. The digital tinting was added in 2008. This image was based on a photo by John White – a very talented wildlife photographer.
