$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Striped Bass:
The Striped Bass – also know variously as the Atlantic striped bass, striper, linesider, rock, pimpfish, or rockfish – is a marine fish found in coastal waters of the Atlantic from the St. Lawrence River into the Gulf of Mexico, down in Louisiana. Adults generally grow to be about four feet long (120 centimeters) but can grow as large as six and a half feet. Average weight is about 35-40 pounds, but these fish can grow to be much heavier. Striped bass are believed to live for up to 30 years. They are very popular with sportsmen and women, and because of this they have been deliberately introduced into many lakes as well as the Pacific Ocean on westerns coastline. The Striped Bass is state fish of Maryland, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and the state saltwater (marine) fish of New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and New Hampshire.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Artist’s notes:
The Striped Bass was completed on 6.5.2012. I had heard about this fish from some friends who fish, and I didn’t know much about it. Not a lot of good reference photos exist, so I had to review several images before I came up with this pose. The reason I drew this fish, mostly, is that it is the official state fish (marine or otherwise) of many US states – seven in fact. So, by doing this one drawing I was able to get much closer in completing the 50 State Project.
