Artist’s notes:
A sketch of the Texas Horned Lizard was done back in 2003, but the final wasn’t completed until 2008. This drawing is based on a photo by wildlife photographer Greg Lasley. I was sad to learn, from a customer who ordered a print and lived in an area they used to be common, told me their numbers in the wild are dwindling due in large part of the introduction of the non-native fire ants who destroy the egg clutches. NOTE: The drawing was reimagined in 2023.
