The Eastern Imperial Eagle is a bird of prey can be found in open country near small woods from Southeastern Europe to Western and Central Asia, including parts of Arabia and North Africa. It is a very large bird with a length of 28–35 inches (72–90 cm), weighing about 5.4–10.0 pounds (2.45–4.55 kilograms). It's wingspan is an impressive 5.9–7.1 feet (1.8–2.16 m.) The Imperial Eagle has been extirpated from nearly all of it's former range in Europe. The Boreal Owl is a small owl native to much of the central and northern forests of North America, Asia and Europe. It is also known as the Tengmalm's Owl after Swedish naturalist Peter Gustaf Tengmalm. Other names for the owl include Richardson's Owl, Funeral Owl, Sparrow Owl, and Pearl Owl. This species is a part of the larger grouping of owls known as typical owls, Strigidae, which contains most other species of owl. The Buffy Fish Owl is a one of four species of fish owl. While it's a fairly large owl, it's the smallest of the fish owls. Adults are about 15-19 inches (38-48 cm.) Bubo ketupu is native to the dense tropical forests of Southeast Asia. As the name implies, a large proportion of the Buffy Fish Owl's diet consists of fish, as well as crustaceans, reptiles, frogs, toads and insects. Rats, mice and large beetles are also taken. They will sometimes take bats, and reportedly feed on carrion. Buffy Fish Owls fish from a perch an the water's edge, or from a tree on a wooded bank, swooping down to snatch prey from the water's surface. The Bearded Vulture - also called the Lammergeier or Lammergeyer - is a large bird of prey native to the rugged and mountainous regions from Europe through much of Asia and Africa. An adult bird is about 37–49 inches long (94–125 cm) with a wingspan of 7.6–9.3 ft (2.31–2.83 m). It weighs roughly 9.9–17.2 lb (4.5–7.8 kg.) Unlike many of the other vulture species, this bird does not have a bald head. But it does get most of it's food by scavenging. The Bearded Vulture is remarkable as it will take the bones of the dead animal far into the air and drop them on the rocks below to crack them open to expose the edible marrow.
