Artist’s notes:
The Violet-Green Swallow was supposed to be part of a field guide for a local hotel in the Reno/Lake Tahoe area. Unfortunately, it was shelved and now it’s publication is in doubt. Regardless, until this commission I was unfamiliar with this lovely bird. It was a real pleasure to draw. UPDATE: Last fall the design firm commissioned a few more illustrations relative to the project, so with any luck it might move forward.
