Mule Deer – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Mule Deer:
The Mule Deer lives in the western part of North America, generally the land west of the Missouri River. The name comes from the deer’s large, mule-like ears. These deer prefer “edge” habitats where trees meet open grassy areas or meadows. They are rarely found very far from water or areas where they can feed. An adult male or “buck” generally grows to weigh from 150-300 pounds. The female “does” weigh less, on average about 100-175 pounds.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%
Fine art illustration of a Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus.) The illustration is available in black and white or color.
Artist’s notes:
The Mule Deer was another illustration that was intended to be part of a field guide to the Reno/Lake Tahoe area that was never published. The drawing is based on a photo taken by Ray Fethers. UPDATE 2.22.2011: Turns out the guidebook might be published after all, as the client commissioned a few more drawings. If it does go to print and I get images from it, I’ll post a link. (UPDATE 2021 – the image was completed redone.)
